Saturday Screenwriters’ Read and Critique
When: Ongoing – Saturdays from 3-5 p.m.
What: One of the longest-running screenwriting groups in San Diego. A read and critique writers’ group led by professional writing coach, Tracy Jones
Where: Point Loma, Liberty Station
Who: Open to all levels! Must be dedicated and supportive.

North County Read and Critique
When: Thursdays from 10-12 p.m.
Where: Private Home in Encinitas. Address will be given to group members.
Who: Open to all level and all genres! Must be dedicated and supportive.
What: A fun, supportive weekly read and critique group for all levels and genres.
Why: Because you are ready for a fun, supportive writing group that nurtures your talent and helps you to kick your craft up to the next level.

Memoir Writing Certificate
Are you ready to complete your memoir in one year?
Starting in February 2016, we began offering a Memoir Writing Certificate to our members. You will earn this certificate by enrolling in and attending Marni’s five Memoir classes
San Diego Writers, Ink members may earn a Basic Certificate in Memoir Writing by taking the following workshops. Ideally, these workshops would be taken in order, though it is not necessary they be taken successively. All workshops are only offered once a year, and must be completed within a three-year period in order to earn the certificate:
- Memoir I: Intro to Memoir Writing. The BluePrint – The Memoir Map
- Memoir II: Plot. Structure for Memoir and Character Arc
- Memoir III: Character, Dialogue, and the Scene
- Memoir IV: Voice, Transitions, Symbolism
- Memoir V: Revising, Editing, Publishing
- Query Writing: 2 dates offered – TBD (registration cost is separate from package deal)
Thursday Night Read and Critique with Carlos
Why: You’re ready to get published
Where: SDWI at Liberty Station
When: Thursday nights from 7-9 pm
What: Join Carlos de los Rios every Thursday night from 7 – 9 pm for a read and critique group for aspiring or accomplished screenwriters. Classes will have no more than 10 members. Students will get to read up to 10 pages of the script they are working on before their peers every other week. Five students max read per week.
Fees are due monthly, and participants must pay regularly in order to maintain their place in this weekly workshop.
